About Spring Lake
The quaint village of Spring Lake sits along the shores of beautiful Spring Lake, a quiet and peaceful spot known for its natural setting and abundant wildlife. You’ll often see birds, deer, and other local creatures right from the property, and the calm atmosphere is part of what makes this area so special. To help protect the environment and shoreline, the lake has a 12 km/hr speed limit and preserved natural edges.
Spring Lake is best enjoyed as a nature and wildlife lake. Due to consistently low and unpredictable water levels in recent years, the shoreline near the dock is often shallow and muddy, and lake access for swimming or launching watercraft is no longer reliable. Guests are welcome to enjoy the lake views, peaceful surroundings, and wildlife watching, but we recommend planning to swim at one of the nearby parks instead.
If you’d like a great swimming or beach day, there are two excellent options just a short drive away:
Just about 15 minutes away, Constable Chelsea Robinson Park offers access to the river along with picnic areas and walking trails. It’s a lovely place to cool off, explore, and spend an afternoon outdoors.
About 20 minutes from the cabin, Wabamun Provincial Park features a larger, swimmable lake with a proper beach area and day-use facilities, making it a great choice for guests looking for a classic lake swim.
Nearby Hasse Lake is also just an 8 minute drive away and includes a day use area, hiking trail, and fire pits for a relaxed outdoor outing.
While Spring Lake itself doesn’t have stores, the town of Stony Plain is only a 10 minute drive east, where you’ll find charming local shops, restaurants, and grocery stores. Spruce Grove is about 15 minutes east with larger amenities like big box stores and a movie theatre.
If you feel like a city adventure, West Edmonton Mall is about 35 minutes away and offers shopping, dining, and entertainment all under one roof. And if your trip includes a bigger Alberta road trip, Jasper National Park is just over three hours west and makes an unforgettable mountain getaway.
