Summer Activities
If you love being active outdoors, Spring Lake is a beautiful place to explore and enjoy nature. The lake is best known for its peaceful setting, wildlife, and birdwatching, and the surrounding area offers walking trails, plus a playground and basketball court across the lake from our cabin. Spring Lake is also stocked with trout for fishing, and it’s common to spot a wide variety of birds and waterfowl nearby.
Water levels have been low and unpredictable in recent years, and the shoreline remains natural, so launching or accessing the lake from our floating dock is not always reliable. For guests looking for easy swimming or beach days, there are great nearby parks and larger lakes within a short drive (Constable Chelsea Robinson & Wabamun Provincial Parks).
Winter Activities
In the winter, you can ice fish on the lake, cross country ski, or snowshoe around the lake. There’s an ice rink on the opposite side of the lake that’s a short driving distance.
Winter is the perfect time to enjoy the quieter atmosphere at Spring Lake. Our guests love to get some quality reading & writing time in our cabin this season!
Local Shopping
Stony Plain, a 12 minute drive East of Spring Lake, has some lovely small shops to enjoy. There are also some beautiful rural shops nearby! In addition to our favourite shops below, you’ll find big chain stores like Walmart, The Home Depot etc. in nearby Spruce Grove.
